If you’ve been following Templatic for a while, you might remember Rejuvenate. It’s a relatively simple theme designed for showcasing establishments like spas and wellness centers. Today this theme received a huge update – Rejuvenate is now totally responsive. A quick look at existing Rejuvenate features Before I start mentioning the stuff that were changed with this version, it’s worth going over some of the benefits you get after committing to Rejuvenate. The most important of which is the fully widgetized homepage. The sidebar, slider & the contents below it, footer – it’s all editable from Appearance ⇨ Widgets. As you’d expect, there’s also custom menu support for the main navigation bar. Another cool feature of Rejuvenate is the ability to mark posts as events. After marking a post as an event (and adding the necessary dates), that entry will show inside the “Upcoming Events” widget available by default on the homepage. Built on Foundation Foundation is a popular front-end framework we’ve been using for the past few months. It’s already powering themes like Video, Apex and Daily Deal (released earlier today). The two biggest areas in which Foundation helps improve upon the previous Rejuvenate version is speed and mobile phone support. The previous theme wasn’t responsive meaning it was less-than-great on phones and tablets. This one doesn’t have that problem, expect clear information and nice looking design with whichever device you use to visit the site. Easy customization Instead of preset skins (like in the previous version), this new Rejuvenate comes with back-end options for changing colors. The best part is that these options are available within the WordPress Customizer meaning that every change is reflected in the preview window in real-time. Those with CSS experience are welcome to use the Custom CSS Editor which is basically an improved version of the custom.css file. Just like with custom.css, you use the editor to overwrite existing CSS classes or add your own. The difference here is that your changes are saved inside the database, removing the need for constant backup of the file. Other benefits available with this update Select one of dozens Google fonts from the WordPress Customizer Upload header and body background images Edit the footer copyright information from the dashboard Preview widgets from the Customizer (requires WordPress 3.9). How to perform the update? If your Rejuvenate license is still active simply connect to the member area and... Read more »
