List Filter is probably our biggest add-on release ever since the initial 6 add-ons were announced. It’s also one of the most requested features in general for Directory. The purpose of the plugin is fairly obvious, it allows visitors to quickly filter displayed listings and reduce the time it takes to locate a specific listing. This functionality is provided as widget that you place inside your sidebar. The best thing about this widget is the fact its developed using AJAX; which allows the list to be updated without the need to refresh the page. Full control over the filters The List Filter widget comes with 3 pre-created options, but they are not fixed. You can enable/disable them as you please. Even cooler is the fact your custom fields can be added inside the filter widget. When it comes to default filtering options, those include: Categories – Displays on search pages and the “All Listing/Event” page, but not on individual category pages Rating – Allows you to quickly view just 5 star or 5 star + 4 star listings. Distance – Quickly control the radius from which the listings should be pulled. The widget also allows you to set the maximum distance. Along with adding custom fields, you can also change their order with drag n’ drop. Dragging a custom field at the top will ensure its filter is shown at the top inside the front-end. Front-end filtering features Along with the core filtering functionality, the plugin will also enable some filtering controls for visitors. These include: Active filters are shown at the top of the search/category page. Ability to turn off specific filters. Disable all filters by clicking on “Clear all filters”.
