Introducing our first one page WordPress theme – OnePager

One of the common suggestions in the New Year Templatic survey was a one page WordPress theme. For all of you that suggested it, thank you and, the wait time is over! OnePager is our take on the niche and we hope you guys will like it as much as we do. OnePager is a responsive theme and will look good on both mobile devices and desktops. Homepage control is tied into the default WordPress Menus functionality allowing you to create complex menus (mega menu support also provided) while still preserving the one-page design and all that comes with it. Stuff you can expect to see in OnePager: Totally widgetized homepage Tons of customization options (change colors in real time) A custom post type for handling the portfolio Sticky menu that follows you as you scroll Support for Templatic Shortcodes plugin 1-click install Automatic (WP dashboard) updates Custom widgets; the stars of the show Since most (if not all) of your content will be displayed on the homepage we created a number of custom widgets to make showcasing it easier. This includes simple widgets such as Facebook, Twitter and testimonials but also complex ones such as the Slider and the blog + portfolio widget. The Newsletter widget is particularly extensive with support for 4 different providers (Feedburner, Mailchimp, FeedBlitz, Aweber). Allowing you to actually display all those widgets are 5 homepage content sections. These homepage widget areas can be linked to the navigation bar in Appearance -> Menus. Even though there are “just” five you can place multiple widgets inside each area. While speaking of Appearance -> Menus…that section contains OnePager options with which you control the homepage. A cool feature of this section is the ability to choose between linking to a widget area or to a page. Choosing a page will cause the theme to automatically append that page to your homepage The good ol’ blog Despite the one page design, we didn’t exclude the blog. Opening blog pages is still possible and starting a blog is as easy as creating a category called “Blog” and adding some posts to it. Showcasing blog posts on the homepage is done using the Popular Posts widget. That widget allows you to showcase posts from any taxonomy in a grid-like manner.
